Class 2

Welcome to Class 2!

In Year 2 you will find Mrs Hoare and Mrs Wield (mornings).

Welcome back after the half term break and hope you all had an enjoyable break. It is hard to believe we are in the last half term of Y2! We are looking forward to this half term being full of fun learning and exciting events including our trip to SeaCity.

The class will open at 8:35am and you are welcome to stay with your child until the bell rings at 8:45am. Maybe you could choose a book together from the book corner and listen to them read.

In Year 2 the children will do PE on a Tuesday morning with Mr Fielder. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school with appropriate footwear and that each piece is named. If your child wears earrings please take them out for PE days.

Please encourage children to read at home every day. Please help them to achieve this by listening to them and talking to them about what they have read. Books can be changed as often as required and the children will soon know the routine for getting new books.

Home learning booklets will be given out during the first week back. Please encourage your child to choose a task from their home learning booklet each week and to complete it in their home learning book. Children will receive a house point when they return their home learning by Thursday each week.

Please feel free to pop in and see us before or after school if you have any queries or questions - we are always happy to see you.

Linked to our class text 'The Robot and the Bluebird' the children followed instructions to make a bird cake before writing their own set of instructions. They then thoroughly enjoyed going into Tree Top Grove to hang the bird cakes in the trees for the birds to enjoy.

The children developed their understanding of the life processes and had fun when Milo the dog came to visit!

The children thoroughly enjoyed being in role as 'Claude'! They have been writing super postcards about Claude's trip to the city. Come in and read their fabulous writing!

The children used role play to explore how the Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk felt about Jack. The Jolly Postman sat and enjoyed a cup of tea with the Giant after he had delivered a postcard to him.
