Information about applying to secondary schools for September 2021

Moving to secondary school is a very important time for your child and it is important that you have as much information as possible to make the decision. Unfortunately, due to the Covid situation, secondary schools are unable to offer the visits that they normally do to help you make your decision. They are offering a variety of different opportunities through virtual means. We have listed the schools below and details for their open events.

How to apply

All the information about applying for a school place can be found on the Southampton City Council 'Applying for a school place' section of their website. Applying for a place is online. If you require any support with this, please contact the school.

Please note that you will be offered four preferences and it is extremely important that you complete all four so that you are more likely to secure one of your choices. If you only select one school and are not successful in securing a place, you will be offered a place at the closest school with spaces. Bitterne Park School and Woodlands Community College and Redbridge Secondary school are part of our REACH Trust. Each school will have their own admissions policy so it is important that you read these before applying.

The deadline for applications is the 31st October and it is extremely important that applications are put in by then.
