Welcome to your Year 3 webpage! Your year 3 team this year is made up of Miss Jones and Mrs Kennedy, we are SUPER excited to work with you and know we are going to have an amazing year!
You can use this page to find out all the wonderful things we will be learning this year. Here you will find the curriculum newsletters for each term.
Snack
As the children are in Key Stage 2 when in Year 3, they are no longer entitled to free snack. If you would like your child to have a snack at school please send them in with one in their bags. If you have any questions or worries about this then please let me know and I will help to work something out!
- Children are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables.
- Children should also bring in a water bottle that is labelled so they can have regular drinks of water throughout the day.
Dojo
I will be using Class Dojo to update you regularly on what we are up to in class and share fantastic work or well done messages so keep your eye on our Class 3 updates! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need help accessing the website or your details.
PE
Our PE day will be Tuesdays. Please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit. PE kit should consist of a house coloured t-shirt (not football shirts), shorts, legging or tracksuit trousers and trainers or shoes that are suitable for sport. If you wear earrings, please make sure these are removed for your PE day or taped up before coming to school.
Home Learning
Children will be given a sheet of paper, consisting of 2 activities every Friday. These activities are based on what we have been learning in class that week, this means that they should be able to complete these independently.
Home learning will be due in the following Thursday. This means the children have the weekend, plus 3 days to complete their homework. Children will receive 5 dojos for completing their home learning each week.
Reading
Children will receive a book from their current book band on Friday, alongside their home learning. It would be great if the children could read this and return it on Tuesday. We can then change their book and send another one home that night. They can then return this Friday and get their new one for the weekend.
*Children who bring in their book twice in the week will receive one of my special bookworm certificates!*
If you have any questions or worries throughout the year, please don't hesitate to let me know. We love to chat! You can catch me at the door at drop off & pick up or send me a message on Class Dojo
